I love my life in Sheffield. I was born and raised here and I have never lived anywhere. There may be times when I considered moving somewhere else – but I just do not have enough motivation to do it. After all, my family and friends are here. I do not think I would want to live in another city and be away from there.
Sheffield is part of the third largest district in England. It is a city in South Yorkshire. I know that the name of the city comes from the River Sheaf – which incidentally runs through the city.
About my life in Sheffield
So what is my life in Sheffield like?
Well, my days are often times filled with work. As I mentioned, I am a freelance social media marketer. My clients are not necessarily in Sheffield too. I have one or two clients that run a local business in the city. But other than that, my other clients are scattered all over the world. All of my current projects are keeping me busy – but I am not complaining. The more clients, the better it would be for me.
Most of the time, I work at home. But there are days when I choose to work outside. There is this quaint cafe near my place that I love to go to. I spend an afternoon there with my earphones to drown the outside noise. I find myself to be more productive whenever I work outside. But unfortunately, this is not always possible.
The weather is not always cooperative – sometimes it can be too cold. However, the people in Sheffield are really friendly and I like socialising whenever I am outside. I’d like to think that I am outgoing enough to be able to make friends easily.
When I am not working I usually go to pubs and hang out with my friends. The pubs here in Sheffield serve some of the best ales in England. Of course, the opportunity to socialise is the main reason to visit these pubs. That is just how the English do it.
My favourite places in Sheffield
So what are my favourite places in Sheffield? When the weather permits it, I like going to the Peak District National Park. I love how it has stunning landscapes. Despite the fact that we do not have any beach here, we do have 5 rivers and millions of trees that help us relax. When I find myself feeling too stressed, I find that being in the midst of nature helps me relax.
There are also times when I visit the many art galleries in Sheffield. It gives me a lot of ideas – especially when I need to come up with a great social media marketing strategy for one of my clients.
All in all, my life in Sheffield is a great one. Will I move? Maybe – if it means it will be good for my career. But right now, I love my life here. I am not really going anywhere in the near future.
